About

Kimchi Rhapsody is a 10-minute documentary research project exploring Koreans’ personal relationships with kimchi and how its cultural meaning continues to evolve. Rather than focusing only on kimchi as a traditional food, the project examined how people understand it in relation to tradition, identity, and modernization.

For the documentary, I conducted and edited interviews with restaurant owners, professors, and students, bringing together perspectives from different backgrounds and generations. These interviews formed the basis of the final documentary and its exploration of the changing place of kimchi in contemporary Korean culture.
